The Yearling
“This was written for our first grandson, Aaron, on his first birthday.
Watching him was like reliving the infancy of our own seven sons.”
Little nipper, just turned one,
Isn’t life a ball of fun?
Every day a new delight
Tasting, feeling all in sight.
Those wobbly steps with firmness grow
Each busy day you’re on the go.
First on the floor then on the stairs
And soon you’ll learn to climb on chairs.
Every day brings something more
Another spot to find, explore!
Learning, learning, growing too
So much to try, so much to do.
Little nipper just turned one
Life’s big adventure just begun.
With all that energy and joy
What great potential in a boy!
