A Little Visit (Visiting Teaching)

Have you done your Visiting Teaching, for the month is nearly through?
Have you. reached out to those sisters who need to meet with you?
Or has your busy schedule kept you hopping every day?
And as for fitting visits in – well this month -just no way!
But stop and think dear sister, what the Gospel’s done for you.
Remembering that you can help another know it’s true.
Your happy smile, your friendly face can brightens someone’s day.
The message and your caring heart can lift a mood that’s grey.
We all have need for friendly smiles and hearts that really care.
Sometimes that little visit is the answer to a prayer.
Sometimes that little visit that you almost didn’t make
Can be the turning point for one whose future is at stake.
For one who’s struggling with a load, who’s faith is buring low.
She’s overwhelmed with problems and uncertain where to go.
It may not be apparent that she has a cross to bear.
If we only see the outside, we won’t know the need is there.
But if we make that visit – just somehow fit it in
And trust the Lord will help us, if we will but begin
We’ll reach those burdened sisters and weld that bond of love.
We’ll strengthen them and lift their hearts with guidance from above.
And as we share their burdens and see this work is done,
We’ll discover we’re not seperate, in fact we’re really one.
